Meribel

Meribel is the most central of the Three Valleys and, as such, is in the best location for exploring this massive area. It consists of several villages. The main Meribel town was developed as a ski resort using traditional style chalets and therefore retains an attractive appearance. It runs up the eastern side of the valley through 1600m up to the Altiport. The higher village of Mottaret is built in a more modern style at 1700m. The newer development of Meribel Villages is situated below the main town on the road to La Tania. Lower down the valley is the original town of Les Allues plus a number of smaller villages. The main nightlife spot would certainly be central Meribel which boasts many good restaurants and bars. Prices are slightly higher than average for ski resorts.
