Geneva to Tignes Mountain Bike Airport Transfer
Geneva airport is situated very close to the French border and, as such, has terminal's in both Switzerland and France. Always exit on the Swiss side unless you have visa issues which prevent you from entering Switzerland (non EU passengers). This is the most popular airport for transfers to our area due to it's proximity and the varied choice or airlines and routes available. EasyJet offer cheap flights to here from a large number of UK cities.
The best route from Geneva takes you along Lake Annecy which is very picturesque but can have heavy traffic during school holidays. The new motorway link between the airport and Annecy which opened in winter 2009 cut transfer times by 15 minutes without affecting the price.
Tignes has been steadily developing its mountain biking area for the last four years, adding new trails every year and, in an effort to boost summer trade and in conjunction with Canyon bikes they are offering free use of their ski lifts to mountain bikers for the whole of summer 2010! The bike park currently consists of 6 man-made downhill tracks, 8 Enduro trails (60 90% downhill), a 4x track, Slopestyle course, Freeride area, skate park and a huge water jump!
The travel time from Geneva to Tignes is around 2.5 hours.
Summer airport transfer for up to five people with bikes in a minibus - 225 euros each way.
For 6 to 8 people in a minibus with a trailer - 280 euros each way.
