Geneva Airport
Geneva airport is situated
very close to the French border and, as such, has terminal's in
both Switzerland and France. Always exit on the Swiss side unless
you have visa issues which prevent you from entering Switzerland
(non EU passengers). This is the most popular airport for transfers
to our area due to it's proximity and the varied choice or airlines
and routes available. Easy Jet fly here from a large number of UK
cities.
The route from Geneva takes you along Lake Annecy which is very
picturesque but can have heavy traffic during school holidays. A
new motorway is due to open in December 2008 between the airport
and Annecy which should cut transfer times by 15 minutes.
Ste. Foy
Ste. Foy is a relatively small resort
with just 4 chairlifts. The skiing and snowboardng here however,
is excellent. It has a good variety of pistes with some beautiful
tree lined runs. It is also very well known for it's off-piste.
The town has undergone extensive development over the last 5 years
and has some fantastic chalets built in traditional style. This
is a great resort for families and beginers/intermediates. It's
close proximity to Les Arcs and Val D'Isere/Tignes make it ideal
for day trips as well.
