Geneva Airport
Geneva airport is situated
very close to the French border and, as such, has terminal's in
both Switzerland and France. Always exit on the Swiss side unless
you have visa issues which prevent you from entering Switzerland
(non EU passengers). This is the most popular airport for transfers
to our area due to it's proximity and the varied choice or airlines
and routes available. Easy Jet fly here from a large number of UK
cities.
The route from Geneva takes you along Lake Annecy which is very
picturesque but can have heavy traffic during school holidays. A
new motorway is due to open in December 2008 between the airport
and Annecy which should cut transfer times by 15 minutes.
Montchavin/Les Coches
Montchavin and Les Coches are situated
at the northern end of La Plagne right next to the Vanoise Express
link to Les Arcs. This puts them right in the middle of the massive
Paradiski area. Both consist mainly of traditionally built chalets
and are set amongst the trees. Montchavin is relatively low down
and the smaller of the two. Les Coches has more bars and restaurants
and benefits from greater altitude. The skiing around is here fantastic
with loads of amazing tree runs. Obviously venturing further afield
either towards Les Arcs or La Plagne gives you access to all the
terrain you could possible need.
Geneva to Montchavin/Les
Coches- 160kms - approx. 2hrs 45
